Getting started with Ethereum

What is Ethereum (ETH) and Wrapped Ethereum (wETH)?

ETH is the native token of the Ethereum blockchain. It can be bought, sold, and traded on exchanges just like any other cryptocurrency.

wETH or “wrapped ETH” allows ETH to be utilized on other blockchains that do not support ETH. This is because wETH is compatible across blockchains. Think of wETH as a more compatible token format to ETH.

How do I purchase Ethereum (ETH)?

Most wallet providers (such as MetaMask) offer users the ability to purchase Ethereum directly from their wallet. Ethereum can also be purchased through various exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase, and more, as well as directly from Rarible.com.

To purchase ETH from your wallet provider, log in to your Ethereum wallet of choice and click the “Buy” button.

To purchase ETH from a crypto exchange, head to your crypto exchange of choice, create an account or log in, select Ethereum, then select “Buy”.

To purchase ETH from Rarible.com, log in with your Ethereum wallet of choice, click your profile image in the top right corner of the screen, then click “Add funds” in the bottom right corner of the screen.
