What is Rarible Protocol?

  • Updated

Rarible Protocol powers both Rarible.com and thousands of community marketplaces. At its core, it's a decentralized toolset that simplifies how developers can build NFT applications on Ethereum, Polygon, Immutable X and Tezos.

Rarible Protocol consists of various open-source components:

Indexer

Our indexer provides blockchain-wide data on NFTs:

  • the owner
  • the creator
  • metadata
  • transactions
  • basic NFT information
  • bids on NFTs
  • orders for an NFT
  • auction information

Shared Order Book

The shared order book aggregates orders from major marketplaces to create instant liquidity for any NFT dApp:

  • OpenSea
  • Rarible
  • LooksRare
  • X2Y2
  • SudoSwap

SDK

Our SDK provides the glue to make it easier to build NFT experiences, even without experience in blockchain/web3.

These components enable you to build the NFT experiences you want without building everything from scratch. To get started, all you need is an API key you can request for free when you visit the Rarible Protocol website (linked below).
