The wrap function on Rarible.com allows users to convert their native ETH (Ethereum) into WETH (Wrapped ETH), an ERC-20 compliant token that enables seamless trading, bidding, and interactions across decentralized apps (dApps) and DeFi ecosystems on the Ethereum blockchain.
This is essential because standard ETH doesn't follow ERC-20 standards, limiting its compatibility in NFT marketplaces like Rarible for activities such as placing bids or making purchases.
You are able to wrap and unwrap a blockchain's native token on the rarible.com marketplace once a chain has been integrated in to the marketplace itself.
If you’ve sold an NFT on Rarible and can’t see the funds in your wallet, it’s likely because the payment was received as wrapped tokens (e.g., wETH). Don’t worry — you can easily unwrap them back to native tokens using Rarible’s built-in wrapping/unwrapping tool.
Step 1:
Go to Rarible.com and click Login in the top-right corner. Connect the wallet that received the payment.
Step 2:
After connecting, select the blockchain where the funds are located (in this example, Zilliqa). You can change chains using the blockchain selector in the top bar.
Step 3:
Click on your wallet balance in the top-right corner. This opens a small pop-up window that shows your wrapped and unwrapped token balances.
Step 4:
In the pop-up, you’ll see your wrapped tokens listed (for example, 100 wZIL). This is also where you can wrap or unwrap tokens on any supported chain.
Step 5:
Unwrap your tokens.
- In the pop-up, switch to the “Swap to ZIL” tab (or the equivalent “Unwrap”/“Swap to native” tab for your chain).
- Enter the amount you want to unwrap (you can also click Max to unwrap everything).
- Click Move to Balance (or Unwrap).
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet when prompted.
Once the transaction is confirmed, the pop-up will close and you’ll see a small success message saying the amount has been moved to your balance.
Step 6:
Check your balance.
Refresh the page or check your wallet — the unwrapped native tokens (e.g., ZIL) should now appear in your regular balance and be ready to use or withdraw.
